A few years ago Scott Hanson asked several of us to take a carousel carving class. It soon turned into a two year project to complete a working, hand carved carousel featuring Alaskan wildlife. I got to carve Wally the Walrus, and paint 18 large murals that surround the ride. The ride can be seen and ridden for a $1 fee at Scott Hanson's "Land of Living Trees", a carving yard in Sterling Alaska, just before Soldotna.
